Parent Club Event - Catholic Schools Week

"Catholic Schools - Dividends for Life"

is Catholic Schools Week Theme for 2010

It reminds that there is no better investment than
the education of a child

January 31 - February 6, 2010.

Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration that focuses attention on the good work done by the nation’s Catholic schools. The first celebration was in 1974. 2010 is the 37th time Catholic Schools Week has been held."Catholic Schools - Dividends for Life" is the theme selected for 2010 Catholic Schools Week.

Catholic Schools Week is a joint project of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

According to Karen Ristau, NCEA president, “Catholic schools provide good things for students and families — high expectations and daily experience of faith. In these challenging times, the theme also reminds parents that the dividends of a Catholic school education — students prepared in faith, knowledge, morals and discipline — last a lifetime. There is no better way to invest in a child’s future — or the future of our world.”

“We realize that in most parts of the country a Catholic education is not without some cost. But I can't think of a better investment in the future than to invest in the education of a child.” says Marie Powell, executive director of the Secretariat of Catholic Education of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is doubt, faith;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,
As to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
